What does an agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technician (m/f/d) do?
If you are not afraid of monstrously huge machines or oily hands, this job could be for you. However, it’s not as easy as it sounds because you should have a preference for electrical engineering and hydraulics and be physically fit. As an agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technician (m/f/d), you maintain and repair vehicles, machines, systems, and devices used in agriculture and the construction industry. You will maintain vehicles, machines, and equipment used on construction sites. You create error and fault diagnoses in mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems, determine the causes of faults and fix defects by repairing or replacing the relevant parts. You disassemble and assemble components and assemblies, process workpieces manually and mechanically, and carry out welding work. Agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technicians (m/f/d) often must deal with high-tech systems. You are a technology freak, and you are fascinated by large and small vehicles; you like mechantronics, installing and assembling – then the agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics technician (m/f/d) might be your job.
We expect:
- good secondary high school diploma (at least completion of 9th grade)
- reliability and ability to work in a team
- interest in technology, vehicles, and machines
- working independently
- physical resilience and endurance
- good fine motor skills (e.g., setting motor controls)
- close-up and color vision (e.g., color codes of vehicle electronics)

Duration of training: 3.5 years
After the education
Committed and capable people always get permanent positions. After your successful examination, permanent employment is planned. But your training is never finished. If you are capable and desire to, you can gain further qualifications and keep your specialist knowledge up to date. Further training will help you to reach management positions. You could take the exam to become a master’s agricultural machinery mechanic (m/f/d), or you could study and earn a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering.

What does a construction equipment operator (m/f/d) do?
Driving an excavator is not just a childhood dream. And that’s not all: cranes, wheel loaders, tunneling machines, and other state-of-the-art construction equipment are part of our machinery. You will keep our construction sites running with computer and GPS support. As a construction equipment operator (m/f/d), you will operate these machines and their systems and use them to move pipes, construction steel, or materials such as sand and soil. You will learn to deal with surveying equipment and take care of the maintenance and availability of equipment and vehicles. Safety on your construction site will also be an essential task – sometimes it is barriers, hard hats, or just work gloves. You occupy a vital interface on our construction sites, and all employees rely on your accuracy, reliability, and experience. But no need to be afraid: It is exciting and thrilling to be the leader of such machines and you will feel pride in this important position.
What we expect:

The topics range from operating different construction machines to surveying technology. Further training will help you to advance professionally and gain leadership positions. An opportunity is to attain a construction machine master (m/f/d). With qualifications for higher education, you can also study and, for example, acquire a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
